Martin DC-16RGTE Premium Reviews 5

One of the guitar players from Australian band, Fruit, was playing the sweetest sounding guitar I've ever heard at a coffee house in Virginia. My wife plays a Taylor acoustic, which is good, but I was intrigued by the sound of the Martin. At the end of Fruit's performance, I asked Sam (the guitar player) about her guitar. She took me on stage to check it out, wrote down the model number for me, and said that she got it recently at the Martin factory because all of her band's equipment was stolen from a van a couple of weeks prior to the small concert at the coffee house. The next day, I called the Guitar Center, and asked them to set the Martin aside for me. I tried out the guitar after work. It didn't take long at the store that night to realize that the Martin was perfect for me. I paid about $1,275 for the guitar.

It's a great price for a giutar made with quality rosewood/spruce wood. I like the rich bass tones and the smooth treble sounds from the first and second strings. The only other comparable guitars I've played were priced at over two times the cost of this model. It sounds great plugged in or not.

The action could be lowered slightly at the top of the neck, but it won't be much of a problem to change it. Other than that, I have no problems.

I have a feeling that I won't be using Martin's lifetime warranty during my life.

This guitar is the best acoustic guitar I have played at any price.
